Deep Exploration is available in two versions, Deep Exploration CAD Edition and Deep Exploration Standard Edition. The primary difference is Deep Exploration CAD Edition includes CAD translators and the Standard Edition does not. As a result, the CAD Edition also costs more per license than the Standard Edition. SAP Visual Enterprise Author Pricing
The Subscription based plan that previously existed is now gone. Customers that are still withing their contract may choose to finish off the term of the contract, but will not receive any new versions. These customers also have the option to migrate to the Perpetual use plan.
Also of Importance is that Deep Exploration Standard has also been discontinued.

The perpetual license is a one-time fee that grants indefinite use of the product under the terms and conditions of the license agreement. Maintenance, support and upgrades are not included with the perpetual license and require the separate purchase of a maintenance contract or upgrade.
Annual Maintenance for SAP Visual Enterprise licensees provides maintenance, support and upgrades for 1 year commencing on the date of activation.

SAP Visual Enterprise Tutorials
When you first start up Visual Enterprise Author (VEA), there is a link under Help/Tutorials and examples that is a good starting point.
The best set of training videos however can be found by going to the Deep Exploration Video Channel
A channel for everyone interested in the concepts of the Visual Enterprise and Visual Communication with a focus on SAP Visual Enterprise Applications (formerly Right Hemisphere Deep Exploration & Deep Server).
The channel is managed by Right Connect, the Visual Enterprise Specialists in Asia Pacific and distributor/reseller for SAP Visual Enterprise Applications in Asia Pacific.
THey have done a spectacular job breaking up video tutorials of VEA (deep exploration) into a variety of categories. I would start with the HOW to series, starting with the User Interface, and then move into videos that focus more on specific feature sets, i.e. Section Cutting, Technical Illustrating, Creating Steps and Procetures….
